Meet the Designers

Hi! We’re Kate and Traci, the creative partnership behind Aster and Aire. We share a love of great design, discovering new places, and finding inspiration in the everyday.

We’ve always been drawn to homes that feel collected rather than overly designed, with character, personality, and a sense of ease. Spaces that feel lived in, layered, and uniquely personal.

Together, we bring creativity, experience, and heart to everything we do, helping ideas come to life.

Traci

“Aster” is a nod to the flower of the Midwest, where Traci was raised, and reflects a lifelong appreciation for the natural world, vintage finds, and the unexpected beauty of combining old with new.

While building a career in business, she continued to explore fashion and lifestyle projects, with international travel becoming a particularly important influence. From discovering distinctive textiles and home decor abroad to embracing the easy, natural aesthetic of Marin, her perspective has been shaped by a love of things that feel authentic, interesting, and gathered over time.

Kate

“Aire” is inspired by the River Aire in Yorkshire, which flowed behind Kate’s childhood home in the English countryside. Growing up surrounded by natural beauty, historic architecture, and traditional English interiors shaped her love of homes with character, charm, and a sense of history.

After studying fashion design and working as a designer in the UK, Kate moved to the Bay Area, where she built a vintage furniture rental business. Today, she brings her design and professional organizing backgrounds to Aster and Aire, always considering how a home can be both beautiful and functional for everyday life.
